I'm Distant Gooner. My Arsenal, My Way

Hi, I'm Distant Gooner — born and bred in the Midlands, but a Gooner through and through for over 35 years (yes, I’m showing my age!). My Arsenal journey didn’t begin at the turn of a trend or through family influence — it started with a Panini sticker album in 1987. Flicking through those pages, something just clicked: the cannon, the beauty of Highbury, the bold red and white… it all called to me. And from that moment on, I was hooked.

I begged my dad to take me to Highbury every time he was in London for work, raided his wallet for all the latest gear (sorry, Dad), and lived for every chance to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow fans — from league games to Wembley semi-finals against Spurs. Those memories shaped my obsession. I was even a regular during the first season at the Emirates. But life evolves — now, with a young family and responsibilities at home, I support from a distance. Still every bit as passionate, just without the post-match pint and pub chat.

That’s why I created Distant Gooner TV — my personal Arsenal therapy, and hopefully yours too. This channel is for the fans who live the game just as intensely but can’t always make the trip. I’ve always found it frustrating when people downplay your opinion just because you weren’t “at the ground.” That mindset needs to shift — passion isn’t measured by postcode.

So here’s my space to speak freely, think critically, and connect with Gooners from all corners of the world. Whether it’s rants, reactions, tactical takes, or transfer buzz — it’s all delivered with honesty, heart, and a deep love for The Arsenal.

Welcome to Distant Gooner TV. Let’s build this community together.
